Jesus christ of Kazan (carved frame)

Handmade Orthodox Icon Jesus Christ of Kazan with hand carved frame in natural rombolo pine wood. This icon was created on canvas and is made by a craftsman by hand according to the style, tradition and criteria of Byzantine art.

In the Monastery of the Theotokos of Kazan, in Russia, we find another depiction of the figure of Christ as Pantocrator. The work was created in the 16th century, during the reign of Ivan IV the Terrible, and is a typical example of the iconography of Christ of the Russian school, inspired by the first icon of Christ as Pantocrator, from the first half of the 6th century, the encaustic icon located in the Monastery of Saint Catherine of Sinai.
