Saint Athanasius (carved frame)

Orthodox Icon Saint Athanasius carved frame in natural rombolo pine wood. This Icon is handcrafted on canvas by a craftsman and embossed according to the style and tradition of Byzantine art.

Saint Athanasius was a Prominent figure of the Christian Church, distinguished for his long and hard struggles in favor of the right faith and against the heresy of Arianism. For this reason it was named Megas by the church. His memory is celebrated every year on January 18 by the Orthodox Church and on May 2 by the Catholic Church. On this day Orthodoxy honors the collection of his remains.
