Saint Catherine or Catherine of Alexandria, also known as Saint Catherine the Great Martyr and according to the hymnologists of the Orthodox Church Catherine (282 – 305), who according to Orthodoxy, became a saint because she remained steadfast in her beliefs despite the pressures and tortures she suffered, during the early 4th century.
