Prophet Elijah (carved frame)

Orthodox Icon Prophet Elijah carved frame in natural rombolo pine wood. This Icon is handcrafted on canvas by a craftsman and embossed according to the style and tradition of Byzantine art.

Prophet Elijah exercised his prophetic gift for 25 years. Worthy of mention in his action are that he prayed and it did not rain for three and a half years, he prayed and fire came from heaven, that instead of dying he was taken up in a chariot of fire into heaven. The memory of Prophet Elias is commemorated on July 20.
