Saint Luke the Doctor

Orthodox Icon Saint Luke the Doctor in natural rombolo pine wood. This Icon is handcrafted on canvas by a craftsman and embossed according to the style and tradition of Byzantine art.

Saint Archbishop Loukas was born in 1877 AD. in Kerch, Crimean Peninsula. He studied Medicine and was elected a professor at the University of Tashkent. He was ordained a Bishop and this was the trigger for a series of exiles to the Saint. At the age of 70, he became Archbishop of Simferoupolis and Crimea. He rested in peace in 1961. His memory is commemorated on June 11.
