Saint Archbishop Loukas was born in 1877 AD. in Kerch, Crimean Peninsula. He studied Medicine and was elected a professor at the University of Tashkent. He was ordained a Bishop and this was the trigger for a series of exiles to the Saint. At the age of 70, he became Archbishop of Simferoupolis and Crimea. He rested in peace in 1961. His memory is commemorated on June 11.
