Lazarus was a friend of Christ. Lazarus became sick, and his sisters came to tell Christ to come visit him. Although Lazarus had already been dead for days before Christ could arrive, the Godman ordered that they open the tomb and for Lazarus to come out. The Resurrection of Lazarus is honoured by the Church on the Saturday before Holy Week.
