Handmade Orthodox Icon Virgin Mary Kardiotissa with hand carved frame in natural rombolo pine wood. This icon was created on canvas and is made by a craftsman by hand according to the style, tradition and criteria of Byzantine art.

The icon represents the Virgin Mary Kardiotissa , the Infant-bearing Virgin Mary, who carries the infant Jesus in her left lap, behind the heart. According to tradition, during the period of the Iconoclasm the icon was taken to Constantinople, but miraculously returned back.
