Constantine the Great, with his decree on secularism in 313, stopped the persecution of Christians. In 325 he convened the First Ecumenical Council in Nicaea in Asia Minor, which is a cornerstone in the course of Christianity. Saint Helen was the mother of Constantine the Great. After finding the Holy Cross, he financed the construction of Christian Churches. She is considered the patroness of husbands. Their memory is commemorated on May 21.
