Holy protection of the Mother of God (carved frame)

Handmade Orthodox Icon Holy protection of the Mother of God with hand carved frame in natural rombolo pine wood. This icon was created on canvas and is made by a craftsman by hand according to the style, tradition and criteria of Byzantine art.

One of the ecclesiastical holidays, with which the vestments of the Virgin Mary are honored. The other two are of Saint Esthetus (July 2) and Saint Zoni (August 31). The feast of Agia Skepi is related to the appearance of the Virgin Mary in a vision in the temple of Blacherna in Constantinople, during the reign of Emperor Leo VI the Wise (886-911).
